Prized for its intricate, snowflake-like formations, Chalcedony is a silica based mineral that owes its delicate intergrowths to the differing structural habits of two of its composites: quartz and moganite. As a result, it forms miniature facets with uncommon luster. It color forms are almost limitless.

The well defined crystals of apophyllite has long made it a favorite acquisition among mineral collectors. Like its close relative mica, Apophyllite is usually white or semi-transparent, the Indian green variety being a rarer form. Also similar to mica is its tendency to flake and disintegrate when heated, so keeping the specimen at a moderate temperature is a must.

This beautifully presented framed / glass encased formation offers a most elegant decorative artistic accent and works well in both modern or traditional environments and looks magnificent when presented in a group of 2 4 or 6 different formations
